EVDLP006 – Don Winsley – Rise Of The Weasel King

EVDLP006

Album design by Ian Galdy and Daniel Kairoff.

East Van Digital presents our sixth artist LP, Don Winsley‘s “Rise Of The Weasel King”, a futuristic collection of bass driven music.

With elements of dubstep, electro, glitch, hip hop, and even classical music mixed in, “Rise Of The Weasel King” will serve both the dance floors and the thinking man’s ipod equally. Don Winsley’s music has always been particularly hard to classify and this becomes even more apparent when viewing his musical background. The 10 track debut album also features collaborations with Cherub, Peter Kairoff, and Conque$t.

According to Don Winsley, “I make baroque dance music. I’ve always had a strong interest in classical theory, I love the melodic and rhythmic complexity of it. My father is an internationally accomplished pianist and I grew up learning a lot about music and playing a wide variety of instruments. I feel that electronic music is one of the most exciting avenues for creative expression we have today, because the palate of sounds is virtually limitless. I like to translate the complexity and intricacy of classical music into something that is high energy, exciting, heavy, and fun. Imagine an evil weasel playing a harpsichord, bathed in strobe lights while a massive crowd of people rises and falls, jumping in unison. I wanted to evoke that image in people’s heads with this LP”

EVD013 – Andy Clockwork – KayCee + Remixes

EVD013

East Van Digital presents Andy Clockwork‘s ‘KayCee’. Originally released on Clocktower Records, we’ve teamed up with Andy to revisit his original and revitalize it with a fresh remastering and brand new remixes.

Standing tall alongside Andy’s original slice of underground house is a shuffling garage remix from My Electronic Friends, with all the deep bass kicks and floating keys that are the trademarks of a classic.

Myles Away turns up the heat on his version, a hybrid of electro house and dubstep, complete with dirty synth-laden breakdowns and an invigorating bounce. Ryan Wells rounds off this release with a warm hip hop dub, topped off with dreamy synth work and smart percussion.

EVD005 – Wes Beanz – Charles Cosby + Remixes

EVD005

East Van Digital unleashes it’s 5th single, “Charles Cosby”, from Vancouver dj & producer Wes Beanz. Wes has been mad busy lately, tearing it up with heated live performances, full of his smoking originals & remixes; his latest is a deep & dirty electrostep stomper.

At the forefront of the moombahton scene is A-Mac, who’s remixes have been played out by the likes of Diplo, Tittsworth & The Smalltown DJ’s; here he provides a late-night mid-tempo number, equal parts groove & grind.

With releases on Celestial, Dot Dot & Filter Music to name a few, Ben Colmen is a rising star in the tech house scene, having cut his teeth in numerous techno clubs in eastern Europe; his tight production sound definitely makes him one to watch out for.

DJ Wood is nothing short of a local legend, his live shows (often alongside DJ Soo) are peak time party rockers, fueled by hip hop, funk & drum n bass. His remix is a serious mid-tempo thumper.

At the top of the international electro house scene, one producer rises above all the others…Frederik Mooij. Label head at the wildly successful Loudroom Recordings, Frederik has turned in a seriously thick remix that will light up the dancefloor.
